Gestimer solves a small but frequent problem: setting a quick reminder without opening an app, hunting for the right menu or typing anything. One gesture on the menu bar and the countdown starts.

Gestimer is a small macOS menu bar app that makes creating quick reminders and timers as simple as possible. The interaction is gestural: you drag Gestimer's menu bar icon downward and, the further you move the cursor, the longer the timer you're setting. You release when you've reached the desired duration, optionally add a title, and the countdown starts immediately, with a notification arriving when time runs out. It's deliberately not suited for everything: it's not designed for recurring reminders, calendar planning or complex task management, but for timers like "remind me in twenty minutes to call the client" or "I'll finish this, alert me in an hour". The countdown can be displayed directly in the menu bar to always keep an eye on the remaining time. Reminders sync with Apple Reminders via iCloud, making them accessible on iPhone and iPad too. Gestimer 2 is the current version available on the App Store, with support for multiple simultaneous timers, labels and compatibility with the latest macOS versions.
