Granola

Granola solves the problem of taking notes during a meeting: records audio in the background while you participate, you write only the most important things, and after the call AI produces a complete summary combining your notes with the full transcript.

Granola is a macOS app that combines manual note-taking with AI meeting transcription. The approach is different from AI meeting bots like Otter.ai or Fireflies: instead of a bot joining the call, Granola records audio directly from the Mac's microphone/system in the background, without being visible to other participants. During the meeting you open Granola and take notes in its editor — only the key points you want to capture. At the end of the meeting, AI processes the full transcript and combines it with your manual notes to create a structured document with summary, key points, action items and complete details. The result is better than a transcription alone (too verbose) or manual notes alone (incomplete): the two integrate. Granola works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams and any other video conferencing app on Mac.
