ManyChat made Instagram and Facebook Messenger DM automation popular before anyone else. When a follower comments on your post or messages you, ManyChat responds automatically, qualifies the lead and guides them through the funnel — without you having to be present.

ManyChat is a marketing automation platform specializing in conversational messaging on Instagram, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, SMS and email. The most common use case is Instagram DM automation: when someone comments on your post with a specific keyword or messages you in direct, ManyChat automatically responds with a message, can collect information, send links, deliver lead magnets and build a follow-up sequence. The flow builder is visual and drag & drop: you define message sequences, branches based on responses and automatic actions. Integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, HubSpot and other marketing tools are available. ManyChat revised its pricing structure in March 2026: the free plan was significantly reduced (from 1,000 to 25 active contacts according to some sources, or maintained at 1,000 with reduced features according to others), and new plans were introduced. An aspect to consider is that WhatsApp costs (Meta's per-conversation fees) and SMS add to the base plans.

For creators, ecommerce businesses, coaches and marketers who want to automate conversations on Instagram and Facebook Messenger to generate leads, sell and handle customer care scalably.

ManyChat revised its pricing structure in March 2026. The free version lets you test the platform with limited contacts (up to 1,000 but with reduced features). Paid plans start at around $15 per month for 500 contacts (Pro, monthly billing) and grow based on active contacts, reaching $400+ per month for high volumes. Annual billing with a discount is not available. On top of the base plan costs, add: Meta's per-conversation WhatsApp fees (variable by country and type), per-message SMS costs and any overages for extra contacts exceeding the plan limit. The actual cost for those using WhatsApp or growing quickly can be much higher than the base price.
