OBS Studio (Open Broadcaster Software) is free, open source video recording and live streaming software, available for Windows, macOS and Linux. Its system is based on scenes and sources: you build your scenes by combining different sources — PC screen, webcam, images, text, browser, specific application windows — and can switch between scenes during streaming or recording. Audio management includes a mixer with filters, noise reduction, compressor and gate, plus support for virtual audio drivers. OBS streams directly to major platforms — YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Live, X and many others — with RTMP configuration or native integration. Alternatively it records content locally in MKV, MP4 and other formats. A huge plugin ecosystem extends the features: scene transitions, variables, Streamlabs integration, animated fonts, game overlays, browser-based remote control and hundreds of others.
